Thoughts on Teaching (2015)

I love teaching.

I love spreading knowledge and to be around students. I love shopping and travelling too. I want a job that I love to do. Because I will always believe that doing something that you love as a job is like being paid while I am having fun. I do hope, that I can be a tv host of a travelling show but, yeah I am not pretty enough to be a tv host.

Well, back to teaching. Teaching as a career is a choice. I can do it but I do not think that the payment is enough for the lifestyle that I love. Unless, if I get married to a rich man but I do not like to be dependent on man. I mean, I do not want to be dependent on man when it includes money. It is not fair for that man.

I think, the teachers in Malaysia do not get the payment that they deserve. With the implementation of the School Based Assessment, their workloads are getting bigger. I can see that, they bring their work home. For me, a worker has been spending half of his day at work doing his job and he should not bring his work home because we need a balance between work and life.

At least, if they do not want to raise the wages, every teacher deserves a teacher assistant. A teacher assistant is important, so that the teacher can focus on his or her own main job which is teaching. A teacher can focus on preparing the best lesson for the students. The teacher can focus on preparing the materials that suit the students’ needs and so on.

Oh, I should stop here. I have an action research to be completed. I just hope that my passion will be bigger than my lust for fancy things.

Resolutions: Start Small

To write, you need to read.
That is me. I just found another blog that I have marked it as my favourite blog. It is written by Raja Sarina, a blogger that I follow on Instagram. She shared her blog on her Instagram, and I started reading her blog and I cannot wait for more. Her writing inspires me.

Life should not be about fame and pretty things. Life is about empowering oneself by working hard in achieving your goal.

She shared her resolution board, and I am inspired by that board.

Taken from her blog,

From her resolutions, she made me realize that I do not need to dream big thing, such as write an entry everyday. I need to start from as simple as washing my face two times per day. Well, for me, maybe I should apply lip balm at least twice a day. I have chapped lips problem although I drink more 2 litres of water everyday.

I am going for my practicum this July. If you do not know, I am doing TESL now. Our internship programme is called as teaching practicum. I will have to write a reflection journal everyday. So, that is a lot of things to do. Hence, I need to list my resolutions for my teaching practicum period.

Social Network: Then and Now

I know that blogging is not a trend anymore but I still love this tiny space. It is liberating and I even made friends from here too.

But.. that was long ago. Now, people have moved to Instagram. I do find it is hard to write long caption to replace blogging because people won't bother to read it.

Reminiscing the old days, where I told almost everything on my blogs such as hang out with friends, the stressful life that I had and stuff that a 18 years old girl loves to write back then. Now, I found that, dangerous. I just realized that telling everything about my friends on blog is dangerous. People knew who my friends. My friends said this before, "Fina, you know what there was someone who said that he knows me from your blog."

I was shocked. Well, I have put my friends' lives online and people may know about them easily.

I did also realize that, I have been posting places that I always go and if there is a single soul who wanted to harm me, I would be dead by then. Luckily, I am still alive. Haha

Growing up made me realize that, social network is a dangerous place. You can't simply put your address, your favourite hang out place and things like that in here, because those places might not be safe when people know that you are always there.
