Token of appreciation.

21:44

Some token of appreciation that I got. Although the thoughts that are counted, including tweets, messages, wall posts, blog comments, calls, and live wishes!

1. A midnight surprise by my friends led by my dearest roommate, Nana.

2. A precious book from Ain Sakinah. (Hebat betul internet shopping, orang Russia boleh beli hadiah kat Malaysia)

3. TudungPeople Numa shawl!! Nana gave me a green one. Suka sangat!

4. A video recorded wish from Atul!! Dapat tengok Eifffel Tower tau!

5. A cute collage from the Jaggers!! Terharu sangat!

Asiah won the first wisher of my birthday, her message reached my phone first. Farah did call me at afternoon. (Siap suruh kawan-kawan dia nyanyi, dah la dalam perpustakaan). Syi posted a photo on Instagram (Comel je, tunggu la nanti kita buat Instagram boleh stalk.)

I don't have the energy to list all of the sms senders, tweets, wall posts, blog comments and even the live wishes. Sincerely, I really appreciate it and all of them do make my day. I'm sorry, but this semester is kind of hectic. There are lots of assignments due next week. So, I need to hibernate for a while. Adios!

Baju Kurung

14:56

A malay girl has to own at least one pair of baju kurung and I own a lot which I don't count. I start collecting baju kurung since I went to boarding school because it a must for us to wear baju kurung everyday. I challenged myself this week to wear baju kurung everyday to class because this past few weeks I barely wear baju kurung since our dress code here is formal, so we can still option to blouse and skirt or blouse and slack trousers.

Why I always wear blouse and slack? Because it is easy. The materials are easier to be ironed compare to baju kurung material and sometime I don't even have to iron it. Actually, when I wear blouse, that is the sign that I don't have time to iron my clothes. So, my goal for this week is to wear baju kurung everyday.

In order to reach the goal, I ironed my clothes on Sunday, all of them except my tudung. Since, I got class for four days only, so I managed to achieve the goal!! Yeay!!

Let's see, am I able to wear baju kurung for the whole week, next week?

Chapter 20

21:24

Behind every birth, there is a woman who bears the pain. For 9 months, she carried the burden all day long, can you imagine you carry a laptop all day long? (The average weight for laptop is about 2.7 ++ kg.)

The pain of giving birth is a different story which I cannot imagine yet but all I want to say is Happy Mother's Day Ibu! 20 years ago on the same date, you become a mother, something that I can never repay. Thank you Ibu!!

Not to forget, Ayah. My hero. My protective Ayah. The only man who spends lots of money for me, the man that always fetch me from school once a month. The man that I always ask for new shoes, new bag and lots of things. Although I rarely call him, but I call Ibu everyday he will know everything about me because Ibu will tell Ayah everything except what I "kaw tim" with Ibu. hehehe. Happy Father's Day Ayah!!!

Homesick.

Gratitude

12:20

I was sleeping but then my sleep was disturbed by some sounds but I ignore them. I tried to sleep again and then Nana called for my name, "Finaaaa... Finaaaa... Bangunlah kejap.".

I was trying to sleep and then someone came. Haish!! I got up, and then Nana pulled my hand, I stood up and followed her. The room was dark but there was a dim light outside of the door. "Kenapa gelap ni?"

"Black out."

"Kipas gerak je."

We went out of the room and then there stood some familiar figures, I wasn't able to recognize them at first but I heard Vivien's voice singing Happy Birthday and then she tried to sing Saengil Chukal Hammida while holding a slice of cake with two big candles. hahaha. Since, she is quite close with the Korea exchanged student, I guess she tried to learn a few words.

There,  I could see Chris who was sitting with laptop on a pail. (My big green pail had transformed into a table.) Iza, Nieta, Nik and Wawa. Wah!!!

They kept singing, and I don't know what should I do and I just laughed and grinned. Then, Vivien asked me to make a wish, "Cepat!! Make a wish, wish nak kahwin muda ka, wish apa-apa je la."

Thanks Kakak-kakak!! For making this surprise. At least I'm still the youngest :p

Matrikulasi vs Asasi

15:56

Perbezaan :

1. Asasi dibawah universiti-universiti berkaitan, contohnya UM, UIA, UiTM, UPNM, UPM. Jadi asasi dibawah Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia. Manakala matrikulasi dibawah Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia.

2. Suasana sedikit berbeza.

3. Curfew hours
Matrikulasi : Boleh keluar pada hujung minggu tapi perlu balik sebelum pukul 6 petang.
Asasi UM : Tiada
Asasi UIA (Kampus PJ) : Boleh keluar petang hari Selasa untuk ke pasar malam, dan hari minggu tetapi perlu balik sebelum pukul 10 malam.
Asasi UiTM (PALAM) : Perlu masuk sebelum pukul 11 malam.

Tempat lain, kurang maklumat.

2. Takde curfew hours, kalau nak lepak mamak malam-malam, nak makan Char Kuey Tiow Kerinchi memang boleh.

3. Credit hours : 27 jam. Hari-hari kelas daripada pukul 8 pagi sampai 5 petang.

4. Kalau ada kelas yang dibatalkan, kena ganti. Sebab kalau tak ganti takut tak sempat nak habiskan. PASUM takde study week untuk peperiksaan akhir.

Pandai-pandailah cari kawan.

8. Wifi best. Laju, tapi tak tahulah sekarang, orang kata dah perlahan.

9. Kolej yang sangat kondusif.

10. Kena rajin ulangkaji, tapi kalau dah genius tu tak payah la kot, tapi jangan overconfident!

11. Syllabus terlebih maju. Bila dah masuk degree, orang lain tak belajar lagi, tapi kami dah belajar.

Sesungguhnya, I'm missing PASUM.

Kak

23:19

Gambar tidak berkait.

I always pretend to be older.

Erm, but usually people think I am older especially boys because they always address me as "Kak". So then I keep pretending to be older although I know that I am younger than them especially when I am at the university.

Pretending to be older makes me feel safe. I feel like no one dare to mess with me and the "Kak" title does mean they respect me.

This happened this morning, when I was carrying my duty as a sahabat pustaka, which I have to go shelving for two hours every week. Three guys, which I think the new intake students asking me "How to search for a book?" and "How long can they borrow the book?". They did seem like a first timer, so I guess they are the February intake students and from what I knew most of the February intake students are STPM leaver and of course they are older than me.

But, when I'm wearing shawl usually people think I'm younger compare to when I'm wearing bawal. hehehe

Hyper

18:06

Saya rasakan saya sedikit "hyper" kebelakangan ini. Saya rasa saya terlebih buat aktiviti fizikal. Bila buat aktiviti fizikal, makan pun banyak. Maka bila timbang berat di sebuah pasaraya, mata saya membulat sebentar. Nafsu tak dikawal, padah jawabnya.

Hujung minggu lepas saya dan rakan-rakan zaman persekolahan, pergi mendaki gunung. Pada mulanya saya ingat mereka mahu mendaki bukit sahaja, tengok-tengok terus gunung. Semput sampai tak sempat nak bernafas tu memang senario yang banyak kali saya alami sepanjang pendakian tersebut. Terus fikir balik angan-angan ingin mendaki Gunung Kinabalu.

Too much

18:19

I don't know what comes into me, but I think I am a bit hyper this week. I just climbed Broga Hill for the second time and Gunung Tok Wan for the first time and I think it might be the last time too. My body was aching badly, plus bruises too.

But then, they do not restrict me from having fun with my groupmates this morning. Basically, we don't have morning class today, so we went to a quite nice place near our campus which took about 15 minutes after driving at 20 km/h because of the bad road condition. It was a last minute plan. We were discussing about our group project yesterday evening and someone came out with this idea, and we acted swiftly. With breakfast, cars and drinks.

The cold water healed my legs. XD I should post about my trip to Broga, Tok Wan and Tekala, but I don't get the mood yet and I should be focusing to my assignments too, as you can see I was having too much fun these days, and it makes me feel miserable because having too much fun is not good.

A cup of coffee

10:38

Having cup of coffee with my best friends is something that I love to do. It can be anywhere, at my place, at their place, cafe, restaurant and even mamak can do it! What I need is just some catching up session with all of my best friends. Chit chatting, talking about how our life is going on, what had we achieved? Who is our latest crush? What happened to that girl? What happened to that boy? What are our friends doing? It just great!

Although we can tweet, skype or chat on facebook, but all of those things can't be compared to meeting in real life. What make I love them more, they are the type who are not occupied to their smartphones when we are talking.

Sometime, I don't mind to spend a little bit money and travelling alone just to meet my friend, but Russia and England is far from my budget. Sorry :(

But, till now I don't have the chance to meet the Jaggers. This is frustrating.

Last weekend, I did have a chat with Asiah in her hostel room while having a large cup of hot chocolate that I managed to bring from KL Sentral, luckily I didn't burn my hand.

It was a nice chat

Then, Syi who just got back from an event fetched me at Asiah's college, because I asked for her help to send me to Pah's college. (As I was staying there, before going to Broga).

What makes me giggle every time I remember that evening is our impromptu trip to PPUM. Pah was craving for cheesecake, so I asked Syi for a favour to stop at PPUM for a quick run to Secret Recipe, so Asiah who wore a bibik's tudung agreed to follow us too. But then, we decided to have some quick bites there, and Asiah who never wore bibik's tudung outside was in agony. Syi asked Asiah to wear her new clothes just to give some confidence in Asiah.

Can't wait till everyone is in Malaysia!!

Cikgu apa?

22:36

Sedih T.T

Aku cakap la aku nanti jadi cikgu. Lepas cakap jadi cikgu, soalan seterusnya subjek apa la pulak.

Situasi pertama. "Kau ambil course apa?" Kudin tanya.

"Kau rasa aku sesuai jadi cikgu apa?"

"Kaunselor?"

Kaunselor? Hahaha. Macam tak percaya pun ada. Memang la dulu aku pernah jadi Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS) tapi takde la pulak bercita-cita nak jadi kaunselor walaupun pernah jugak terlintas sedikit dalam fikiran. "Aku? Kaunselor? Hahahaha. Kau biar betul?"

Situasi kedua.

Sometimes, I do feel like I am Jill of all trades but master of nothing.

SEED

15:38

Long ago a seed was planted, 270 days later it comes out breaking the silence of the room. After a few decades he is here in this room, teaching a bunch of young people.....

This was written by my writing lecturer, Dr. Mahendran Maniam. Basically this is the introduction paragraph of the most popular essay for secondary school, Myself. He taught us about how to attract people to read your writing. It is all about how you make a person hook up at your writing for that precious 20 seconds or 2 sentences, if you succeed then you're a good writer.

I am trying to achieve that par. He did suggest us to start a journal, for a start write about "What do you expect you will be in 20 years ahead?" It'll be nice, how you see yourself transform. Your writing style will change according to your maturity. I had start blogging since I was in second former in secondary school. I was 14 years old and now I am going to turn 20 years old. It has been six years! Time flies! I can see the improvement in myself and I do ave a different view about life right now.

Sincerely, before this I was thinking that I can die if I didn't score straight a's in SPM but now I don't even think academic as the first priority although it is still important. My view has changed, my purpose of learning is because I want to know about it, not for the sake of getting good result only. By the way,  Dr. Mahendran always says that life doesn't start until you get married. It must be a big different which I'm not ready yet.

For right now, I have three blogs. Oh God! How crazy am I for blogging. This blog is for sharing, another one is where I put all of my writing pieces and the other one is I made specially for me as I turn 20 years old this year, a personal space for me. I am someone who doesn't like to share my feeling, I want to share it but I just can't do it. So, I write although I don't care people read it. Urgh! How complex am I?

I did record a video, last weekend.

Random dan bergegar

SALE

22:55

When I see discount banners hanging around I will always feel like

"I have to buy this, this is 30% cheaper"
"I got this for 40 bucks where the normal price is 100 bucks."
"Oh this bag is great, it's only 30 Ringgit!!"
"I got a tudung bawal for 7 ringgit but if I bought 3 tudung bawal I will get them for 20 ringgit!"

Those are the normal conversation between my logic and my lust but usually I end up with I have to re-calculate my expenses for that particular month, I need to cut some here, cut some there. This discount banner is really distracting, but I also know that actually I lost more money when I buy some goodies although after getting some discount.

What I want to say is, for example I went to a shopping mall on one fine day. I was planning to have lunch there but suddenly I saw a few banners that were shouting "SALE! SALE! YOU HAVE TO GRAB THIS!!! THIS IS REALLY A GREAT DEAL!!". Then, my feet unconsciously went into the shop, and then I ended up having fewer money than before.

I need to control myself. That's why I prefer to not go shopping.

But these babies are too sexy!

BAM!

18:17

Bila tengok video ni rasa macam kena tepek kat muka terus. BAM!

@YinnYinnn

04:00

CALL

21:03

CALL : Computer Assisted Language Learning. The course itself is interesting, we are associated with computers more than usual. Few lecture hours but more assignment. Prove? These are the few assignments that I had done in the first week.

1. Brochure (A group work)

2. Introducing myself

I found one more interesting activity to be carried on in an English Class. Where our writing lecturer asked us to pluck a leaf which the size is not more than 1/3 of an A4 paper. Then secure the leaf on a foolscap paper with cellophane tape. Write a three paragraphs essay that is related to the leaf. He did say, he can know which school of talk we were coming from just by reading our essays.

For example, a science based student usually will write about the structure of the leaf, about the stomata, the chlorophyll and everything that is related to science. Where an art stream student will focus on the colour, the structure or something abstract.

I think, I might ask my student to pluck a flower, or maybe twig.

My remedy

I am not a fan of chocolate bar but I do love hot chocolate.

The Necklace

15:04

If you are an accessories lover, please be ready. This is not an advertisement but an inviting post, please check out my dear junior's instagram profile, Arni Sofiea for a great deal of beautiful necklaces and earrings!!

Luckily, I am the type of person who don't wear accessories, if not I will be crazy for them. Here are the sneak peaks of the items:

Go and check it out!

22 - 7 = 15

23:46

Makan banyak, bersenam kurang.

Selamat Malam. Assalamualaikum.

Writing Skills Activities

12:23

I want to share some of the activities that can be conducted during an English Class. I wanna put them here, because I believe that the data stored in this blog is much easier to be searched compare to my notes.

1. Chain Story
This activity was conducted during the Computer Assisted Language Learning Class ( CALL ). Where a student must have a computer (because this is a computer based class) but we can always opt to paper. Each of the students are given a phrase, an introductory phrase for example what we did yesterday was "I can clearly recall what happened last year. I was walking alone at about 10.30pm on a Friday night when suddenly...."

So the students have to continue writing the story until the teacher/ lecturer puts a stop. After two minutes, the stop sign was given. Then we moved to the next computer (or you can just ask the students to pass the paper to the person on their left or right)

Let them enjoy the writing session. It was really fun, we were giggling at each other and everyone tried their best to make the story became more interesting.

This was one of our master piece. I can see that everyone is so into romance genre.

2. Writing aimlessly
This writing activity was conducted during our Writing Class. The lecturer asked us to write without deciding who is the audience? What is the message? And why you want to write that?

It was hard because you are clueless but it was enjoyable too because you can write anything. From this activity you can see what the students had been trained into. Usually, the outcomes are:

a. My name is blablabla. I am blablabla years old. My hobby is blablabla
b. I have a cat. Its name is blablabla
c. My hobby is blablabla

This is because, the teachers always ask them to write these things so when they have nothing to write this kind of stereotype answer will come out.

3. Draw and describe
Ask the students to draw one of their classmates's face. Then, let them present the drawing and ask them to describe the person until everyone can recognize who is the person. Describing is one of the vital process in writing because, by describing you will let the readers to imagine the character by themselves.

Yesterday I guess something came into my mind because I borrowed seven books in one go.
